First I would like to thank Philippe Acheritogaray for pointing out “8 Herrialdeak Zuzenean,” a radio program that is aired on the first Sunday of every month from Ustaritz (Lapurdi).  The last two programs included folks from the states. The December edition featured bertsolariak from the Basque Country and the United States as well as Euskara in the U.S.  In January the program discussed Udaleku.  To hear these emissions as well as future ones go to: https://8probintziak.com/irratia/

I would also like to let you know that these programs are in Mp3 format and also may be downloaded for listening on your your Mp3 player by right-clicking on the program link and selecting "save link as."  While listening to a program online you may also right click on the screen and select "save as" (this works for Windows).  This is great for those of us working on 2013 fitness resolutions because it gives us something interesting to listen to us as we work out!  Just make sure you download programs in advance as they are large files and take a while.

William A. Douglass, founder of the Basque Studies Program at the University of Nevada Reno, and recent NV Writers Hall of Fame inductee has recently published the English version of his biography Mr. Basque  at the Center for Basque Studies.  The original Spanish version, by Miel Elustondo, was written after ten years of interviews, and was published by Pamiela in 2011.

Here’s hoping that your New Year has started off well! Datorren aste artio!
