Information Sought on 1938 Basque Prison Escapee
Finally some Basque historians are looking for some help to locate person who is believed to possibly be the fourth successful escapee from Fort Alfonxo XII – aka Fort San Cristobal in 1938. If found this would reclassify this escape as the most successful in contemporary European history. The fourth escapee is thought to have made his way from the prison to Banka, in Iparralde, to Cedarville, California where he lived, served in the US armed forces and established a trucking business. These historians are now asking for help from Basques in California for help in tracking him, or his descendants down.
