Astero
NABO Convention
As everyone knows, Jaialdi, Boise's Basque festival that takes place once every five years, is happening this week. What people may not know, is that every five years, Jaialdi is also the site for the NABO Convention, which means that NABO has parallel activities taking place this weekend as well. NABO events begin on Friday at 8am with the annual summer NABO meeting. This meeting gathers representatives from the 40+ NABO member clubs and organizations, and as its most important meeting of the year, will cover reports from all NABO committee chairs, some guest presentations as well as election for officers. The delegates will also receive a special visit from Lehendakari Urkullu who will begin the meeting with a special greeting.

A special feature of this meeting will be the presentation of NABO's Bizi Emankorra awards. The Bizi Emankorra award is NABO's lifetime achievement award for individuals who have collaborated and made significant contributions to NABO, not only in their own clubs, but at the NABO level as well. This year's recipients include: Joseba Etxarri, Izaskun Kortazar, Benan Oregi, and John Ysursa. More information on these individuals and their contributions will be included in next week's Astero.
As every convention, in locales with a fronton, NABO's Pilota Finals will also take place beginning on Thursday at 4pm at the Anduiza Fronton. Action can also be followed live on KTVB.com. A number of NABO club dance groups are also attending Jaialdi and will be performing for crowds at Idaho Expo on Saturday and Sunday. Besta hun dener
