Santa Fe Artifacts Added to the Basque Diaspora Archives
In issue #820 of the Office for the Basque Community Abroad’s electronic newsletter Euskal Etxeak, it was reported that several artifacts from the Santa Fe Basque Restaurant in Reno, Nevada have made their way to Bilbao to become part of the Basque Diaspora Archive. Closing for good in July of 2020, Patty Miller at the Basque Museum and Cultural Center in Boise, with the help of Michelle Alzola and Jose Luis Egiluz gathered and then transported the pieces to the Basque Country. Euzko Etxea Holiday Party
Euzko Etxea of New York will hold their holiday party on Saturday, December 18 from 7:00 until 10:00pm. Pintxos, wine and beer will be served. There will be a cover charge of $20.00. There will be a special appearance of Olentzero at 8:30pm. They ask parents of children who wish to participate to bring a wrapped and clearly identified gift for their child(ren). Kern County Basque Club Christmas Party
The Kern County Basque Club will hold its annual Christmas party on Sunday December 12th. Festivities will begin at 11:30am followed by a Lomo lunch. Cost of the meal is $25 for adults and $20 for children and honorary members. After lunch, cider and chestnuts will be served, and Santa Claus will also pay a visit. The club dancers will take advantage of the gathering to hold a bake sale too. RSVPs are appreciated by emailing Maria Torretta, or by contacting Joey Iturriria.
