Douglass Pens New Casino Novel
Dr. William A. Douglass (Bill) reached out to share the news about his latest publication, The Starlight-Hotel Casino published on May, 1st by Guernica World Editions in Toronto, Canada. The book is “a fictional composite of Reno's Comstock and Riverboat hotel-casinos, both of which failed in the late 1990s. While a novel, and hence with fictional aspects, it is quite autobiographical, since Douglass and his family were part owners of the failed properties. Starlight describes the stresses experienced by the owners and key employees as they strived to salvage the doomed enterprise against the backdrop of the decline of Reno as a major gaming destination. The reader is also given behind-the-scenes insight into the organization of the casino business.” For more information, or to read an excerpt click here. The book is available for purchase on Amazon.com. Zorionak Bill!
