Eguberri Azoka in Boise
Please join our friends on the Basque Block this Sunday, December 3rd from 11am-4pm for the Eguberriko Azoka Christmas Market. The second annual Eguberriko Azoka will include food, drinks, and Christmas gifts. There will be 11 vendors participating selling items like hats, household decor, cards, shirts, pottery, and so much more! The Leku Ona, Txo Txo's Doghouse, and the Basque Museum, will also be providing food including chorizo in TALOS! Dress warm, and traditional Basque costumes are encouraged. For complete information, visit their website.
International day of Euskara
On December 3rd, Basques around the world will celebrate the international day of Euskara, or Euskararen Eguna. On this day, events of all kinds are organized to commemorate the day by speaking Basque, enjoying food and each other’s company. This date was chosen because it is the feast of St. Francis Xabier, a missionary who traveled to Asia, and whose dying words were spoken in Basque on December 3, 1552.
