Gure Bazterrak Book Presentation at Basque Museum

Gure BazterrakThe Basque Museum and Cultural Center invites everyone to join them for “An Evening with Anne Rearick,” for the presentation of her photography book Gure Bazterrak. The event will take place at the Museum today, November 20th beginning at 6pm. Signed copies of her book will also be available for purchase. Christmas Brunch and Mus in Fresno

The Fresno Basque Club is getting into the holiday spirit with its annual Christmas Brunch and Mus. The event will take place at the Santa Fe Basque Restaurant, On December 6th. Mus registration begins at 8am with play beginning at 8:30am, and cost to participate is $20 per player. Mendiko Euskaldun ClubaBasque families of all villages, please join Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba December 2, 2025 at 4:30 PM at the at the Town Administration Office, located at 1407 Highway 395 N as the Town Board of Gardnerville considers forming a Sister City partnership with Ortzaize/Ossès. A Sister City relationship helps build cultural, educational, and community connections between two towns. It means new opportunities to preserve our heritage, strengthen our Basque club, support our youth, and celebrate the traditions our families brought from the Basque Country generations ago. This moment is not about one village — it’s about all of us, across our entire Basque community. Your presence matters. Your voice matters. 2025 Fall Meeting and San Martin in Reno

Reno Meeting The North American Basque Organizations held its annual fall meeting this last Saturday, November 15th, at Louis’ Basque Corner, in Reno, Nevada co-hosted by the William A. Douglass Center for Basque Studies and the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club. Delegates attended both in person and on Zoom to discuss a myriad of topics including voting on some amendments to the bylaws concerning quorum and proxies. Noted attendees also included Maria Concepcion Aranguren Laflin, Delegate of Euskadi in the United States and Canada, and Benan Oregi representing the Basque Government’s Department of the Basque Community Abroad. Other highlights of the meeting included the rehiring of Madalen Bieter and Mikaela De Poyster-Goikoetxea as Euskara Coordinators, and Kate Camino and Lisa Corcostegui as NABO facilitator and webmaster respectively. Everyone was treated to a wonderful lunch at Louis’ and then in the evening, to the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club’s San Martin festivities held at the Nugget (formerly John Ascuaga’s Nugget). Safe to say a good time was had by all! On behalf of everyone at NABO, we’d like to thank the CBS as well as the Reno Basque Club for their wonderful hospitality. Mila esker handi bat! Mus Madness at the Basque Cultural Center

Mus MadnessPlease join the Basque Cultural Center on November 23rd for Mus Madness. The event will begin at 9am with coffee, muffins and fresh fruit followed by Mus tournaments, lessons and great company. The cost to participate in the adult Mus tournament is $20 per person. Please note, this is NOT a NABO Qualifying Mus Tournament, but an opportunity to hone your skills, with first through third place finishers getting prizes. There will also be a free youth tournament in the afternoon, along with free Mus lessons provided for anyone wishing to learn how to play.
