It's Official! Gardnerville and Ortaize are Sister Cities

As we reported last week, the communities of Gardnerville, Nevada and Ortzaize, Osses, France in the Basque Country recently created a Sister-City relationship. As Gardnerville Town Manager Erik Nilssen said, “It gives us an opportunity to support local cultural organizations while strengthening international relationships that benefit our residents, our schools, and future generations.” We salute the town of Gardnerville for seeing the value in such exchanges, and hope that this is the beginning of many new opportunities for both communities, and beyond. You can read the proclamation here. Again, congratulations, Zorionak to all who made this possible. Visit the Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba on Facebook too for more pictures of the day.
