Basque Club of Utah 42nd Annual Dinner-Dance Fundraiser
Please join the Basque Club of Utah on February 7th for its 42nd Annual Basque Dinner/Dance fundraiser at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church Holy Family Hall. The festivities begin at 6pm with a social, followed by dinner at 7pm. Cost of the meal is $20 for children and $40 for adults. Space is limited and RSVPs are required by January 30th so don’t miss out! Besides a phenomenal meal, you’ll also be treated to a performance by the Utah’ko Triskalariak and dance music provided this year by Hori Bai. Ikastola Seeking Director
The Basque Museum and Cultural Center in collaboration with the Boiseko Ikastola are seeking a director to lead and steward our unique Basque language-immersion program. This leadership role oversees program operations, staff, curriculum, family engagement, and long-term sustainability—ensuring a warm, high-quality immersion experience grounded in Basque language and culture. This position is ideal for an experienced early childhood leader who values language immersion, community connection, and culturally rooted education. Big Horn Basque Club Annual Meeting
The Big Horn Basque Club will hold its Annual Meeting this Sunday, February 1st at 11am at the American Legion Hall . Everyone is encouraged to attend to enjoy lunch and an afternoon with friends and family. The club will provide Lukainka, pasta salad, cake, cheese and wine and there will be a cash bar as well. Elections for the board will be held and discussion will begin about NABO’s 2027 convention to be hosted by the club. There is a lot to be done, and so all are encouraged not only to attend, but also sign up for the various committees this event requires. San Francisco Basque Club Mus Tournament
The San Francisco Basque Club will host its annual NABO Qualifying Mus Tournament this Sunday, February 1st at the Cultural Center. Registration will begin at 7am and the minimum age to participate is 16. For more information, click here.
Sheep Shearing Class in Kaycee, Wyoming
If you are in Wyoming, Sheridan College located in Sheridan, Wyoming but also with campuses in Johnson County will be offering a Sheep Shearing Class in Kaycee, Wyoming on Saturday and Sunday February 7th and 8th from 7am-5pm for anyone wishing to learn “basic techniques for safely and effectively shearing a sheep.” The reasons why sheep are shorn, as well as equipment used and how to maintain that equipment will also be covered.
