New Basque Historical Novel: Hammer of Witches
The Center for Basque Studies is excited to announce the publication of The Hammer of Witches by Dr. Begoña Echeverria. The book, a historical novel, will be formally presented this weekend at the Chino Basque Club picnic and Dr. Echeverria will be available to autograph copies of her book on Sunday in Brinderson Hall. The Center's Publications Editor, Dan Montero, will also be on hand all day with copies of this and other Center titles for sale. Santa Rosa Basque Club Festival
The Santa Rosa Basque Club will be celebrating its fourth annual Udako Festa (Summer Festival) on September 6th in Paradise Valley, NV. Festivities will begin at 9am with mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church followed by a paella lunch at noon. After lunch there will be games, mus, music and dancing, including a performance by the Ardi Beltzak dancers from the Ruby Mountains. Eibar Wins First Liga Match
On Sunday August 24th Real Sociedad travelled to Eibar's Ipurua Municipal Stadium to play the local team in its first, first division match in 74 years.
